Her humble beginnings started in New York City as a Musical Director/Piano Accompanist for two high school musicals while still in high school! Janine went on to perfoming in nearly every club in Brooklyn and Manhattan doing Jam sessions, Poetry Slams, Cabarets and even organizing her own events. What else to do with energy that vibes on many levels but to go International and relocate to Europe. Since then Janine's artistry has soared! |
Janine has been called The Queen of Gospel as she has not only toured throughout Germany with various gospel groups but also with The Black Gospel Singers throughout Europe. Not only was she Assistant Musical Director with the Dwight Robson Choir on the promotions tour with "Der König der Löwen" , she currently is the Director of three adult choirs and one youth choir in Hamburg and Bremen.
Janine performs throughout Germany with one of the hottest blues bands, who go by the name "Voodoo Child". They have released their first CD entitled "The Gospel of the Blues". She is a Co-Writer as well as performer on this Blues and Funk CD.
Janine Smith is a multi-talented artist who extends her creative powers into many different musical genres. Her jazz interpretations are soulful and expressive as she creates warm moods and grooves jamming on old standard tunes with some of Germany's top jazz musicians.
Versatility knows no boundaries as Janine has written and released three songs on the Strenuesse Album with Running Fast Records. She has performed live club events freestylin' vocal improve with innovative DJs spinning the finest in Club and House music.
When there is room for only one entertainer, Janine often fills the position as a Piano Bar/Lounge Singer. She acoustically accompanies herself as she sings classics from Billy Joel, Elton John, Frank Sinatra, Stevie Wonder, the Beatles, just to name a few. She has performed in such places as the Marriott Hotel Hamburg, Dennis' Swing Club, Hotel Am Meer, Calypso Bar, and the Atlantic Hotel. Janine Smith has also sailed throughout the Carribbean as an entertainer for Seetours Travel Agency.
